Core expertise

Cost engineering & quantity surveying expertise.

I connect engineering progress, contractual commitments, actual costs, accruals, and future exposure into clear management decisions. My work spans the full cost cycle—from estimate and baseline through forecasting, change control, invoicing, and closeout.

01

Cost Control & Forecasting

Budget control, commitments, actuals, accruals, ETC/EAC, cash flow, variance analysis, trend management, and TCC reporting.

02

Quantity Surveying

Quantity verification, progress measurement, VOWD, unit rates, invoice certification, final accounts, and subcontract administration.

03

Project Controls

WBS/CBS alignment, EVM, CPI/SPI, integrated cost and schedule analysis, dashboards, governance, and management reporting.

04

Change & Claims

Variation orders, entitlement review, cost impact assessment, trend registers, contractor claims, and commercial negotiation support.

05

Estimating

Class 5–1 estimating, benchmarking, cost build-ups, risk allowances, Monte Carlo analysis, and estimate assurance.

06

ERP & Analytics

SAP, Oracle ERP, Primavera P6, CostOS, advanced Excel, Power BI, @Risk, MS Project, RSMeans, and ACCE.

Approach

How I control cost.

One connected cycle from the first estimate to final account, so management sees cost exposure early and decisions are based on current numbers.

  1. Estimate

Class 5–1 estimates, benchmarking, cost build-ups, and risk allowances.

  2. Baseline

Budget set against an aligned WBS/CBS as the reference for control.

  3. Measure

Commitments, actuals, accruals, progress measurement, and VOWD.

  4. Control change

Variation orders, cost impact assessment, and trend registers.

  5. Forecast

ETC/EAC, cash flow, variance analysis, CPI/SPI, and management reporting.

  6. Close out

Invoice certification, final accounts, and subcontract closeout.

Experience

Professional experience in oil & gas and EPC.

Hands-on delivery experience across upstream facilities, refinery upgrades, ammonia plant modules, fabrication yards, offshore vessels, and brownfield execution.

Storage Tank Overhaul — Tender Estimation & Project Cost Control

Refinery Units II–VI & Marketing Operations · Indonesia

Handled tender cost estimation and project cost control for storage tank overhaul works across Pertamina’s Refinery Units II, III, IV, V and VI and Marketing operations. My responsibilities extended from tender preparation through project execution to completion.

Tender stage

Multidisciplinary scope

Tank bottom, shell, roof, piping, and civil foundation works. Prepared tender cost estimates covering the defined overhaul scope across mechanical, piping, and civil disciplines.

Execution stage

Control through completion

Monitored project budgets, actual costs, work progress, and forecasts throughout execution, assessing the remaining cost required to complete the work.

This experience brings together tender-stage estimating and execution-stage cost control across multiple operating locations, with responsibility continuing through project completion.

36-inch Produced Water Pipeline — AACE Class 3 EPIC Cost Estimate

Oil & gas operator (name withheld) · Remote desert oilfield, MENA region

Prepared a Class 3 cost estimate for the lump-sum turnkey EPIC of a 36-inch PE100 SDR11 produced water pipeline, about 1.8 km long, from an oilfield gathering system to a water treatment plant. The estimate was built at FEED maturity for budget and bid preparation, with a full basis of estimate, quantity take-off, procurement and construction build-ups, and mark-ups benchmarked against a published international cost database.

Quantities

Take-off from design geometry

Trench sections from cover depth, bedding and side slopes gave about 18,200 m³ of excavation, plus bedding, backfill, 151 pipe joints, 157 butt-fusion joints and the hydrotest water volume.

Procurement

Delivered-to-site material cost

Pipe priced by weight from ex-works USD/kg, then freight, port handling and customs, inland trucking, third-party inspection and spares added to reach a delivered cost. Procurement is about 48% of the total.

Construction

Unit-rate build-up

Man-hours per unit at a composite labour rate plus equipment and materials across earthworks, pipeline installation, crossings and civil, live tie-ins and testing. Time-related indirects (supervision, camp, HSE, permits) were priced on the construction duration.

Risk & assurance

Mark-ups, contingency and open risks

PM, insurance, commissioning and bond rates checked against benchmark ranges. Escalation of 2.5% and a deterministic 12% contingency, with key technical risks such as material suitability at design temperature flagged outside contingency. An ACCE input list was prepared for an independent check.
